Oxygen and Iron Youth Conditioning is Richmond’s only youth program designed by IYCA certified Personal Trainers. All programs are developmentally appropriate for children. Our training sessions are systematically planned to promote FUN, encourage a healthy lifestyle, enhance athletic performance, and increase injury prevention.
In the youth conditioning industry, the norm is to treat children as “little adults” or train them as though they are elite athletes. Young athletes are not mature enough physically, psychologically, or emotionally to even perform the same type of training as adults. They do not have the base of aerobic/anaerobic conditioning that a more mature athlete has acquired, nor should they attempt a strength program that is meant or designed for adults.
At Oxygen and Iron all programs are designed according to the child’s age and physical development. Our programs are fun, movement based activities, which will enhance overall physical performance.
Each session includes strength, agility, power, speed and flexibility. All classes are held in a group setting to help promote fun, leadership skills, camaraderie, and healthy competition.
Also available from Oxygen and Iron:
Building a Champion Program:
A 4 month progressive and systematic program to enhance athletic performance. Athletes are taught progressive movement habits through a series of skill sets.
Coordination, strength, agility, speed, flexibility, linear and lateral deceleration are some of the skill sets that will be taught and mastered.
