Karen Byrd is a Certified Holistic Health Coach and a Certified Personal Trainer. Karen received her Health Coach training through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) based in New York City and has been certified by the AADP (American Association of Drugless Practitioners). She received her certification as a Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
She became a Health Coach to fulfill her passion for working with family and friends to take control of their health goals and to improve their overall wellness. She offers individual health, nutrition, and lifestyle coaching to clients in addition to group workshop sessions.
Karen’s primary focus is working with the “Baby Boomers” as they strive to stay/become active and healthier. This is a second career for Karen, as she spent 38 years in the Information Technology world. Additional interests for Karen have led her to pursue a continuing studies certificate for Culinary Arts from the University of Richmond. She combines her interest in cooking and her nutritional knowledge to add healthy and more nutritious recipe ideas for her clients.
